At HueLog, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a HueLog account, we collect:

Email address
Name (optional)
Password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication)

Mood Data

When you use HueLog, you may provide:

Daily mood ratings (grades A+ through F)
Optional notes associated with mood entries
Timestamps of mood entries

Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect limited technical information to ensure the app functions properly:

Device type and operating system version
App version
Crash logs and performance data

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Your mood data is stored locally on your device. HueLog uses on-device storage (local storage) to keep your mood entries, notes, and preferences. This means your personal mood data does not leave your phone unless you explicitly choose to export it.

Firebase Authentication is used solely for account management (sign-in, sign-up, and account security). Your mood entries and notes are not stored on Firebase servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain the HueLog app
Authenticate your account and keep it secure
Display your mood history, insights, and statistics
Improve app performance and fix bugs

We do not use your data for:

Advertising or ad targeting
Selling to third parties
Profiling or behavioral tracking

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only third-party service we use is:

Firebase (Google) — for authentication services only. Firebase processes your email and password to manage your account. Please refer to Firebase's Privacy Policy for more details.

5. Data Export and Deletion

You have full control over your data:

Export: You can export all your mood data at any time in CSV or JSON format from the Settings page.
Clear Data: You can clear all locally stored mood data from the Settings page.
Delete Account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page. This action is irreversible.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

Passwords are securely handled through Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text
Mood data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to external servers
All network communications use HTTPS encryption

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

HueLog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
